All,
Has anyone had any experience with using this with AMD graphics cards:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-000-SR
It's not on the approved AMD eyefinity list but is a lot cheaper (and easier to source) than those that are.
A little background - just under a year ago I got a Hazro HZ27WC from OCUK - I've found it to be a great screen and have it hooked up to the DVI-DualLink port on my AMD 7970. Since then I've come into possession of an Iiyama G2773HS 120Hz monitor and wanted to use it as a 2nd display.
In order to take advantage of that 120Hz goodness it needs dual-link DVI. Turns out that on my graphics cards (XFX R7970 Black Edition) the 2nd DVI-D is only single-link and I can't use the DVI-DL port in the second card as the outputs are disabled in CrossFire.
Reviews on the adapters are few and far between and it seems that most people use them to hook Apple laptops up to big screens. Adapters like this aren't ideal and £80 is a bit much for me to just 'write off' if it doesn't work like I would like.
Thanks!
