Logitech G35 7.1 Surround Sound Headset

I was thinking of buying a pair next week. I've never used 7.1 in headphones before, are they worth it over 2.1? If anyone has used them, what's the build quality like?

Okay no probs I did read a thread earlier about someone saying go stand alone headphones and seperate mic - I've already got a fairly decent pair of Sennheisers, so I might use those if I can find them and then just buy a mic.
