I want to clone my HD, but it cant detect the destination drive. Windows can see it no problem, its been in the pc for months. Its set to secondary master if that matters?

I've had that happen many times with an earlier version of TI - I use Home v10 now. Can't say why, it just didn't seem to like particular changes I might make and refused to recognise drives.
I found uninstalling the prog (completely + registry entries) then reinstalling to be the only way. Real pain but great utility. Thinking back, bypassing the OS and just using the recovery/boot disk to create a backup might work if you dont want the hassle - cant remember if the destination drive becomes visible that way.

i am using the 10.0 home edition. Reinstalled it, still same problem. It can make a create a backup location on the second HD, but just cant see it when i want to clone the source drive. Suppose i'll have to set it as a Primary slave.

Well i made a boot cd with true image, and booted with it. When i try to clone my HD i get an error message saying "Failed to read from the sector 729,050,305 of the hard disk 2" whatever that means.

Think my only other option is to try ghost?
