Anyone using a ASUS Xonar DX****No sound coming from front audio panel****

Got an Xonar D2 and it works perfectly fine with teamspeak. Not sure about mumble don't use it.

Drivers are a tad roppy for Windows 7 64bit, I eventually used the Vista 64 bit as they were the most stable..

google search and I think there was some unified drivers released for ASUS soundboards. I haven't used them, as once I got mine working I was scared to change anything else with it... Was such a PITA when I first got mine..

I have the Xonar D2X and have windows 7 64bit, it works ok with teamspeak, I did have trouble with the original drivers at times so I installed the unified drivers and havent had a problem since.

Got a DX. No issues with drivers. Everything works including TS and Mumble, although I do use push to talk as my mic is very sensitive.

I have one.

I used it for about a week

I have an XFI Fatality and the DX was a lovely warm sound in comparison, but then after the week ( give or take a day or two ) it just stopped working.
I went back to the XFI and been there since.

The card works 100% on one of my other PCs and its goreous, but I do use the extra features of the XFI's Live Drive, so I dont miss it.

Well installed the card but the front panel audio jacks don't seem to work. I connected the HD audio cable, but it also has a second connector marked AC-97. Should I be using that one instead?

Don't bother using AC97 connector, stick with the HD connector.

AC97 has a maximim of 6 channels of analog audio output, whereas HD (High Definition) has 8 channels, or more.

Did you remember to change to fp headphone in the asus control panel otherwise it won't work
hope that helps you out

Yeah just found that:o

When I was using the on board sound If I disconnected from the front jack it would automatically default to the rear jack?

Can you not set this up with the Xonar?

Curious to know this as well, my DX just arrived and am going to install it tomorrow.

Also, my friend says I should go for the unified drivers as they're more stable, can anyone give me a link to it?

Hi

Im getting a DX tommorow also i found the unified drivers

I am not sure to use these or the latest ones on the asus site ?

Only issue I have ever had with the official Asus drivers was in Bad Company 2 where the game would just close after opening.

Not sure if it is just my particular card but if I try to install Asus drivers over existing drivers it bluescreens my PC, so I would advise against doing that :P

Really am impressed with the leap in sound quality this card has given me compared to my onboard audio my Edifier speakers are enjoying it too :o:D

Am loving this card, everything sounds much clearer and better compared to the onboard!

One problem when I'm in a skype call using my 5.1 headset connected to the back of the DX, when I have a game open they can hear a wierd vibrating noise from me? It disappears when I minimise the game, I can't hear it myself when I put the mic on listen, but I do hear it when I record it and replay it. So guess I have to use the realtek for the microphone...

Nevermind, using the Realtek for microphone causes a slight static noise to appear. Very strange...
