Just wondering what your thoughts are? Tempted to get one as I've had the same non-modular/non-crossfire PSU for several years and I'm looking to upgrade. This is the one that's caught my eye :D

Save yourself £40 and get a TX 850, will take a good 20 minutes extra on cable managment though.

I got one because I was worried my old Atrix one would pack up any minute, and wanted to futureproof incase I get another 470.

Had no crashes, system is stable, so performance wise it's the muts nuts.

However, the sata and molex cabling is flat, which makes cable management really awkward unless you can lie it flat in your case. Getting it to lie flat is a complete pain in the posterior.

Other than that, dam good psu.

No complaints here about the HX850W. It's extremely quiet, (mostly) modular and has great efficiency. I have a number of Corsair HX PSUs and they've all been excellent and reliable to date.

what will be the spec of the machine its going into ? are you actually going to be using dual high end cards ?

if your only going to be using 1 gfx card then something like this would be more than enough - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-117-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

Ive had a to RMA one of these last week due to the racket it was making and the loud buzzing sound when the pc was switched off the psu was making.

Im not the only one with these 2 faults either with this model psu.

Edit: Just seen Stulid post above :)

ignore, have linked your thread above.

yup they need the better warranty, have seen loads of people having to rma corsair psu's lately, how often do you see that with antec ?

Well im back to a Corsair TX now after having a Antec Truepower fail and an XFX pro in one week together with very similar faults.

The Corsair is fine and really quiet and i stand by that they make the best PSUs :)

i'm just stating that i see more threads about having to rma corsair psu's than antec psu's.

both are excellent psu's but i don't think the corsair is worth the extra money over a perfectly good antec one.

and come to think of it i have been reading a few about the xfx psu's atm also.

tbh even though i have one lol i don't really see the point in fully modular psu's, yes the antec does have more cables but not enough to make me choose the lesser cabled corsair over one.

I'm after one that'll be good for a couple of upgrades and will be running Crossfire shortly with plenty of drives due to my raid setup. I also want a modular one, hence fancying the HX850W.

Current PSU is almost 5 years old, I rarely change them!

Got the HX850w here, runs the spec in my sig with dual gtx 470's @800/1600/1684. Excellent unit and very quiet even at load. My only minor gripe is that the cables being flat are a little harder to tidy.
