Anyone using an M3/M4 iMac?

I appreciate the iMac might not be the type of thing people on here would pick from Apple's line-up, but I need to get one to replace an ageing iMac my parents' use that has died a death.

Despite trying to persuade them that a Mac Mini + Monitor + Webcam would be just the same they are of an age and mindset where replacing like-for-like is the only option they would consider.

Is it much of a muchness for a casual user between the M3 and the M4? I'm thinking an older M3 with a 'better' spec than the base M4 would be a viable option.

iMac screens will likely be better than any mac mini + monitor pairing they would've had in mind anyway - I had an iMac for about 5 years and only ditched it because I had to move to Windows for work reasons. It was a fantastic machine.

I think the only reason you might get an M4 over an M3 might be because the M4s are able to upgrade through OS versions for a year longer, as your parents may want to stick with the machine for as long as possible.

A 13 inch iMac? :D

Completely robbed from the googles but:

Just bought two imacs, one m1 and one m3. Going to connect them by thunderbolt 3 and use one as a second monitor over airdrop, apparently it works very well. Or can use them through universal control as two separate computers.

Got them for just over £400 each, surprised they've gone that low already!
