anyone using Biostar TPower X58 yet?

300 Blck at 6GHz. Posted at that but unstable - with phase or water, overclocking potential with this board is enormous.

Had a 920 @ 4.6GHz 230 BLCK with a £12 Akasa Nero. Peaked at 80 degrees during heavy priming session (Blend).

Got mine setup last week but I couldnt get access to ocuk so couldn't report back my findings.

The board is a dream to work with. One thing I've noticed though (using beta bios with dividers) is that if I use a ratio other than 2:8 to set my ram speed to 1600mhz, I get errors on memtest but with 2:8, it works perfectly fine. Initially I got 4 ghz out of it without ht on and speedstep off using 19x211. This was pretty stable but I decided to turn ht and speedstep on for power saving a bit more performance and I had to take it down to 205x19 for 3.89ghz. The 4ghz was using 1.424v while the 3.89ghz with speedstep and ht was at 1.376v.



Here are some 3dmark06 tests:

Everything at stock, spec in sig.


Gpu overclocked to 700/1450/1220


Cpu overclocked to 4ghz and gpu at 720/1450/1225

My main limitation now is heat. Priming gives me insane temps of 80 degrees even with my noctua. The problem is that my room is a bit small and I'm not sure if my case is the problem. Any help to reduce the temps would be very appreciated. I really want to take this higher than 4ghz because I know the board has a lot of headroom. Btw nice one AndyOcuk, I love how when some settings don't work, it still manages to turn on so you dont have to reset cmos everytime. Was a pain on my friends dfi p45 and my cousin's asus p5q deluxe.



Edit just noticed you got 300bclk!!!, didnt even know that was possible!

Yeah the Lianli case is a bit crappo for cooling. He gets bsods all the time coz it over heats lmao. He was trying to get it to settle nicely and now hes stuck on 3.89ghz or something.

LOL shut up you :p. It doesn't actually bsod from overheating, it just turns off. Aren't you the one who gets bsods like everyday ahahah. (I know this guy before anyone asks)

It's a lian li B25 :). I actually wanted the A70 at first but it looked far too big.

It's a noctua btw. How about if I get another noctua fan at the back? I was thinking of changing the lian li case fans. My temps aren't as bad as this morning though. It turned out that the dust filters were completely covered with dust and cleaning them lowered the temps by about 10 degrees :)
