Anyone using Discord? Fantastic software for comms

Great new app I've been made aware of called Discord:

You can use it via its web interface or download a native application (around 40mb) to run it directly from your desktop.

Designed for gamers, it allows you to create your own server for voice and comms in a very slick interface.

Anyone use it, or have an Overclockers channel?

Yeah there's a few groups using it.

Don't think there's a real OCUK channel though. There was an unofficial TS one but that shut down when discord came out.

Depends on what games you play as to if there's a OCUK group though.

i prefer it to TS. Its really easy to use and to join in with another channel you just click it like changing room in TS.

No weirdly. I have zero idea how they make money.

I think they're planning paid ad ons, cosmetics.

Although unless they've got a decent war chest I imagine it might implode soon.

Must be millions on it all eating bandwith.

Wasn't really that many people using the TS when it was around. Mainly seemed to be two groups one of CSGO and another of BF4.

Most games seem to have open channels for whoever wants to join but without proper mods it would be a nightmare to manage. And discord would look horrible with so many rooms.

Probably easier to create a list of discord channels for people to join if they want in with some people they might recognise from forums(and of course famous you tubers like myself with my whopping 3 subscribers).
