Hi,

Has anyone managed a decent overclock with the Pentium Anniversary with a MSI Z97 series motherboard?

I've got the cpu, a Phanteks TC-12DX and the MSI Gaming 5. As you can see I'm just using the Pentium as a placeholder before Broadwell comes out but am interested in overclocking it in the meantime to its full potential :)

Has anyone done so on this mobo and what settings did you use?

Thanks for any input!

4.8GHz is the max i've seen on reviews, but you may win the silicon lottery.
I guess 5GHz may be possible.

Im using a 4790k on an MSI gaming 7 - slightly different I admit.

First thing is to make sure you have the newest bios, reduced voltage from 1.28v at stock to 1.2v...

What ive done on my 4970k at the moment is just put multi to 46x and left everything on auto. Seems to have worked pretty well so far! Definitely havent got the most out of it yet though.

Woah, 5GHz! Not with my cooling solution methinks. OC Genie settles for 4.3GHz which seems pretty conservative.

PS Cpu is Costa Rica, supposed to be a better OC'er?
