Hi all, just downloading my first movie at the moment, installation was a bit rough, had to update media player a couple of times to get it working. Im very impressed with the selection and ease of downloading movies, its ideal for me as Ive no tv in the bedroom at the moment so I can take the laptop up to bed with a movie and a few beers tonight and leave the missus downstairs watching what she wants :)

Anyone else impressed with this free (well almost free) service.

I'd completly forgotten that this was being launched. Having played around with telewest's various offerings (3(?) online tv channels + teleport replay) it'll be interesting to see what sky by broadband's like (have cable at mine, sky at my parents where i am now). Downloading now.. will give my impressions when it's finished.

Got this a few months ago, started off downloading movies but the speeds were very slow. I still use it but only for the sports highlights.

It would be better if you could stream a film but you have to download it first.

The quality is quite good, not excellent but not bad either.

Anyone else notice that the kservice runs in the background even when not using sky broadband and seems to constantly keep your connection tied up, it was winding me up so had to uninstall sky broadband

Apparently it's p2p so that's what it's doing in the background.

It's sooooo slow though - started downloading @ ~ 5 and I'm still only at 66% on a 1 Mb line...

Took nearly 4 hours last night to download a 2 hour film (kill bill 2) on a 2 mb connection, must admit though the film quality is very good and played faultlessly throughout the film, so overall im pretty impressed probably more so than others as I dont have tv dvd upstairs so this is a great substitute. next time ill probably choose my movie then download through the night, wont notice the long download times then, well done sky ;)
