Anyone using the coolermaster silencio?

A very nice looking case which looks similar to the fractals and is tempting given the quality issues with fractal at the moment.

Would be good to hear some views!

There must be someone on here using a silencio surely?

Really want to know if it'll cope with an i5 clocked to 4.5 and a gtx 570 @ stock/very mild oc

After watching TTL's review on youtube, it seems like the foam is really thick and makes it difficult to squash cables behind the side panel, and also for tall heatsinks?

Yeah, really limits the heatsinks to 154mm.

I'm deciding between :

Akasa Venom nano
gelid tranquilo
Coolermaster hyper or tx4

OR

and Antec Kuhler 620 with a pwm fan added

The antec seems the dieal choice due to the limited airflow. And the extra foam etc should eliminate most pump noise...... any ideas?

According to at least one review there's a revised version of the case that addresses many of the issues mentioned in the initial reviews. (pictures here)

I haven't been able to find out if/when it'll actually be available.

Hi

I put a system in a Silencio yesterday and it's a great little case.
Now i will say that a modular psu will make the build easier.
Before anyone asks i have had a fractal design r1 and out of the two my choice is the coolermaster silencio hands down.
As for the side panel well it went on easier on the silencio than the fractal (theres more room behind the motherboard tray on the silecio you just need to be neat when routing the cables)
And the stock fans this case is really quiet now the fractal fans are loud and dont shift much air.
And little details like io cables being black and including some stick rubber pads for the psu and fans.
Plus it's £20 cheaper
Overall an amazing case for the price :)

Cheers cook. I've orderd mine and really looking forward to it. My only concern is the i5 I plan to overclock and the gtx570 I'm putting in there. I'll be pulling the rmeoveable hd bay for better air flow.

What system did you build and how were the temps?

Ok i just checked some temps
The build is
i5 760 @ 3.36ghz thats at 36c (idle)
The cooler is the noctua nh-c14 the temps could be cooler but i'm only running the fans @ 7 volts
gtx460 29c (idle)
Bearing in mind that i built this for a htpc so i wanted it to be quiet.
You might want to consider adding another front fan if your using it for gaming.
Enjoy the case :)

hi
The fans are connected to the motherboard and run at 100%
The fans are rated at 800rpm and are really quiet.
One other thing the hot swap dock can be removed if you dont need it.

Was considering the Silencio myself. Looks good, but i went with the Define XL. Should have it tomorrow, hope it isn't broke!

Well my silencio, as well as my new build components arrived today! Mega impressed with the silencio I ahve to say!

The only downer was that the usb3 port cable plugs into the usb port on the io panel and does not have a mobo header. Other than that a really solid/quality looking case. Will post more feedback once rig up and running!

Good luck with your Define XL
Dont forget to bend your knees when picking it up ;)

It arrived in one piece! However, it looks like it has been used, there is some scratching inside and on the top drive caddy

Awesome looking case, very quiet, but I am a little disappointed. You don't pay £100 for a scruffy case :(

Avoid Fractal until their QA problems are resolved IMO

That sucks i would have been gutted.
Not very cheap to send back an XL
Fractal are getting a bit of a reputation.Quality control is not quite there yet.
But as long as your happy with the case :)

Happy enough, but I know it isn't quite perfect, even if you'd have to open it to see :p
