Anyone using the Denon AVRX4500H or AVRX6500H?

Currently building a full on 21ftx17ft home cinema, and looking for new amplifier so I don't have to use my current Denon in the living room... and these are the two I'm thinking of... with the benefit of the 6500H being a full 11.2 without needing an external additional 2 channel amplifier which I have spare but...

So, anyone using either of these? Will be running 7.1.4 100%, possibl 7.2.4 but doubt it...

I have a Marantz SR6012 which is closely related. Excellent amplifier that I run a 5.1.4 atmos setup with. Running with Q Acoustic speakers (3050’s etc plus their Install line of ceiling speakers).

Never feels like it runs out of steam to me even when powering 9 speakers. I do listen to it at fairly ‘normal’ sound levels though.

They're exactly the speakers that I'll be running the Q Acoustic 3050 fronts, the 3010 for the sides and rear surrounds, the 3090 centre speaker... then I need some atmos ceiling... will take a look at that install line of speakers for the ceiling though as I dont want anything big hanging off like more 3010's...

Which particular ceiling speakers did you use mate? Be very interested to know... any pictures?

4500 here, just upgraded from a Yamaha RXA-3050 and can’t believe how small the denon is to it, also boy can it run hot, have some cooling fans and on the Yamaha they never turned on whereas they kick in with the denon after a few minutes, running a 5.1.2 Atmos with MA silver all round and MA 8” ceiling speakers (sorry forgot the model) and happy with the sound,but only upgraded to get the DV included and at the discounted price i had to jump for it

Yeah a few people have said it runs hot, then again with maximum of what 9 channels on the 4500 and 13 channels including subs on the 6500 that's a lot of powering hahaha, will make sure it's in a nice cool place

I'm very happily running the previous X6400H in a 7.2.4 config. Love it. Can as already commented get a little toasty but never had any issues.

Am using M&K 750THX LCR, SUR55T Surrounds and Rears, 2 x Arendal 1961 1s Subs and 4 x Cambridge Mini 12 Atmos.

Yeah I was looking at the Mini12's myself for the atmos, just need something small for the ceiling atmos. The quality good with them mate>?

I'm running a 4700H with 5.1.2 - What sort of feedback do you need?

Hi mate, what speakers you running, just anything useful really, and the hot thing has come up many times now, so deffo will need to look at that. What you making of the sound compared to maybe what you ran before? I went from a Yamaha A830x Amp previously and changed to Denon last year and there was a noticible improvement but the "fullness" of the sound in films, was actually surprised... so fancied staying with Denon... so seeing if they fail or anything useful.

Fantastic cheers fella, appreciate the post... well, just pulled the plug and gone Denon AVRX6500H... comes next week... so I've finally started and gonna go the Q Acoustics 3000i series... sometimes you just gotta go balls deep hahaha. So system will be:

Q Acoustics 3050i Front Left/Right
Q Acoustics 3090C Centre
Q Acoustics 3010i Sides/Rears
Q Acoustics 3060S Subwoofer
Cambridge Audio Minx12's for the Atmos speakers on ceiling...
Sony UBP-X700 4k Player

I bought the Mini12's as a cheap way to add Atmos to start and then add bigger much more expensive speakers like M&K's later. But you know what? I think they're great so haven't any real desire to change them.

Yep mine came today 2nd hand mint so they will be used for now... if I require anymore then I will but tbh I reckon they'll be fine!
