Hello,

Just thought I would check before I take the plunge, thinking of upgrading my current 1440P Gigabyte monitor to the M32U which for me is quite an expensive monitor but I'm constantly irritated by the fact that I'm not using the Series X to its full potential

Also I'll be seriously considering the 42" OLEDs this time next year so it would be a temporary upgrade

The monitor will also be used for work.

Can anyone share their experiences, any issues at all? My current Gigabyte monitor has been rock solid

Cheers

What does full potential mean? 1440p 120fps is better than 4K 60fps in my view. Doesn’t your current monitor do 120fps?

4K will be nice for work, excel etc though

I don't think the Xbox cares that it's 1440p it just down scales to 1440p. You can't select 1440p 120fps instead of 4k 60fps in game for example

So if a games performance mode - 4k 120fps and it's quality mode is 4k 60fps I will be forced to play it in 1440p and the same fps as above therefore missing out on the 4k resolution

I think that's right, someone will hopefully correct me if I'm wrong

No performance mode is 4K 120. The whole point of performance is to drop the res to maintain frame rates.

you have made several posts about this issue though so I fear most replies will be repeating the replies in your previous threads.

probably better waiting for a decent size oled as in other posts you mention you want HDR

My question was asking about the M32U monitor and if anyone was using it with their Xbox. Not specifically about resolutions because I'm with the understanding that the Series X outputs a 4K resolution which my current monitor can't display.

Are you saying it doesn't output 4k so its pointless?

It does in graphics modes on some games. But only 60fps

FPS games can’t do 4K and 120fps. Most will have dynamic resolution.

My examples in my earlier post weren't great the point I was trying to get across is using a 1440p screen is limiting regardless of FPS. I was going to wait until the 42" OLED screens appear but the M32 monitor is very tempting and the console still does output a 4k resolution

I'll see what happens in the new year

I can't answer the Xbox question, but I'm using it for my PS5 and I'm happy with it. Interface is user friendly.

Image quality is comparable with my ROG PG279Q.
