Anyone using the new FAH Control

As title. Used advance setup to just run GPU. Needs a bit of tinkering to set adv methods flag & verbosity 5 [max setting now]. Made error of not starting client with Control but now fixed. Seems to give error message "client died" when quitting but seems to start from checkpoint ok.
One good feature is that it downloads new WU once you hit 98%:)

F@H Monitor I couldn't get to work with it. HFM.NET v0.9.0 works but it took me a while to figure out you have to enter the address of the client before the : when configuring HFM

All-in-all once you get the hang of it seems to work pretty smoothly.
 
Yes I use it, works very well :) Not been able to get the multiple clients setup on one control yet, might have another play with it tonight. I keep getting "access denied" error.

Since you said you have a 560 Ti in the other thread, what flags do you have set? Just curious since I have none set atm :)

Just adv methods via flag settings & verbosity 5 via preferences. Not got the hang of the flag setup as the instructions are a bit vague, Give one e.g. but that doesn't seem to apply to others.

Another point. I've had 2 WU crash due to windows reboot & client doesn't seem to d/l a new Wu without closing control & restarting it:(:confused:

As for multiple clients shouldn't that all be detected during config/install.
 
Hi Pilgrim57 I've updated the sticky with the v7 client, I've not used it myself though so if you have a moment could you have a quick check that what I'm saying is valid, and if there are any errors or any suggestions / other bits you'd reckon should go in there let me know :)

Seems OK, Dekez.. Would add that it has feature of fahMon/HFM in that it displays ETA/tpf/ppd plus log file tab. Another feature is that it d/l new WU @98% so min downtime;) This time can be adjusted, however I haven't done it.
Would suggest the express install as I went the advanced route & struggled a bit & didn't always make the right choice & it took a while to correct my mistakes.
 
Thanks I've added those bits in, I've also hidden the older clients details with spoiler tags so it's a bit clearer.
 
Sorry to hijack/Butt in, but could someone tell me how I add "adv methods" when using v7 of FAHControl? as I am unable to find it anywhere in the setup - sorry if this is a really lame question - Im still a Folding Newbie

I've always had same settings: standby monitor after 15 minutes. Never had a problem before! As I said in another thread new drivers also cause a problem running SETI cuda units - gpu drops to 30% while working on 2 wu at a time.
 
Might try it again once i have a new folding rig, seems its easier to use when setting up multiple gpu and cpu. Im hoping to run up to 4 gpu and 1 cpu.

Is there any downside to the new v7 and control centre.
 
Only one I've had so far is if a wu crashes then it doesn't dump it & get a new one. Have to go for the restart. Only folding on 1 gpu so don't know how it would affect multiple clients.

Easy a/c & ear plugs or crank up the volume on radio/TV.
Its the night that are worse with the PC in my bedroom:( The ear plugs work but then I don't hear the alarm clock:eek:
Got the 4 tog duvet on the bed now.
