Anyone visited Auschwitz?

Went back in November, i think we went with the tour company Krakow Direct. Do both the Auschwitz and Birkenau tour, as they are separate sites, also don't cram the salt mines into the same day, as in my opinion both take almost a day each. Choosing the Auschwitz/Salt Mines tour means you'll be rushed around it - Especially as Auschwitz is about an hour from Krakow.

Would definitely recommend a guide though, we had a lovely old lady that spoke great English.

Agreed. Best to see both camps and half a day isnt enough with the one hour travel each way. We took the whole day and could have spent longer to be honest.

Will definitely be doing the salt mines on a different day.

From what I've read, the Nazis decided to leave Krakow alone and not destroy it, as they took a shine to it.

Looking else what there is to do in the city, seems like there's a decent looking pinball museum, a horror/puzzle experience.. and a cat cafe, amongst other things :p

There's part of Schindlers factory if you've seen Schindlers list?

It's tied in with a war museum, so lots of photo's and items that have been collected since the war. No guide needed for this one, and it's relatively small, so we went around in about 2 hours. Infact we tagged this one on the end of the salt mine tour as it meant the tour company drove us there - saved a few miles walk.
