I have just bought an ASUS 3d monitor of OCUK. It will arrive on tuesday hopefully. The best nvidia card i have atm is a 9800gt, Im currently testing it on 1920x1080 and getting around 52fps in starcraft 2. about 70 in mass effect 2 ( this is full settings and AA to maximum the game says it can handle)
Well the fps was taken from fraps.

What games/programs would you like me to test out in 3d? im currently playing starcraft 2, mass effect 2, race 07 (with addons). rfactor, gtr2, l4d2, borderlands and cod4 (not the 2nd one). And some HL2 games (Css etc). I have other games, if they get a large vote i will add them to my list.

i also have BC2/dirt2 but my 9800gt struggles with them at some points and in 3d i dont think it would be very good results + its not DX11 :)

If the game has a benchmark tool i will use that if it support 3d. If not i will add all the fps results from fraps (and xfire) to a spreadsheet and i will upload to google docs.

I only have a few days to test it as i am probably starting a job on thursday so i cant test every game i have.

All 2d and 3d results will be taken from the same monitor when it arrives on tuesday.

I'm using my nvidia 7900gs as a backup at the moment. Startcraft 2 look so horrible at the moment especially the cut scenes. I hope my new card arrive next week.

I'd be intrigued with your results, would give others who are interested in getting 3D vision a point of reference to.

I'd be interested to see how much lod you need to turn down in the likes of metro 2033, just cause 2 and other more recent games.

You should be fine with a lot of older games though, and even stuff like L4D1+2, RE5 will probably run ok with settings at a reasonable level.

BTW Dirt 2 isn't great in 3D anyway unless you turn off shadows, so there's no great loss there :)

well said. My 9800gt cost me £140 new and its £80 if you bought new today. If i can get good FPS in 3d well that 3d wont be any more expensive than 2d. Unless you start buying extreme hardware to play games like metro 2033 (which i dont have) full graphics in 3d.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-020-AS that is what i bought just 2 hours ago.

When i get the monitor i will test the games. If i come under any problems i will say in the comment cell beside the game on the spreadsheet. If theres any fixes or news about the problem i will also give some info about it there aswell. I will update the dirt 2 as the shadow is something most people get.

marc512, would be interesting to see comparisons with your new GTX 460 too ;)

it will arrive after the monitor :) but when im working. Next weekend results will be uploaded. I didnt buy it of OCUK. Only the monitor.
