Whoever pinched the M pack also tried to have the 106's wing mirror away but couldn't get it off.

Also, its a women. I suspect she was sold this as a "M-Sport" and is an innocent victim of the Badge doesnt equal M-Sport paradox.

It doesn't on the e36 the model designation badge was one peice, and as a result there was a recessed line joining the characters at the bottom. The i, is, TD and TDS badges were separate from the numbers however.
