here's a little bit of info for anyone using a SD Tv, and its rather major for them
SD Tv users - this applies to you if you have or thinking of buying a PS3 at some stage.
here goes....
UK Modern Tvs Standard-Def TV can do 60hz mode as well as are standard 50hz
PAL PS3 does 50hz mode via anything *other than* HDTV connectivity, regardless of your TV being able to handle 60hz, so users with HDTV get 60hz, SD TV you get 50hz and nothing else
meaning
Normally you have options such as PAL60/PAL50Hz for Xbox1, 360, Wii, etc.. on SD Tv's but the PS3 enforces the single 50hz mode unless using a HDTV.. with its limitations in terms of frames per second, jerky motion (just try the Ridge Racer demo from the market place as one example to see those silky-frames vanish before your eyes).
To me thats bad, seeing the majority of UK users (mainstream or kids) will not have a HDTV for some time yet
Maybe fixed later?,
