To anyone who has just bought a Socket 939, X2 3800 from OcUK, what stepping was it? What did it clock to?

I'm going to be getting one soon and I don't want an old or dud stepping.

Its almost impossible to check what stepping the cpu is until you get it, it will most likely be a fairly recent stepping but maybe a few weeks old as i understand AMD have now ceased development of 939 chip's the stepping will be written on top of the CPU, and provides details such as what year it was made what week and the chip revision.

I'm just after recent experiences of people buying these from OcUK. If people are still frequently getting chips from last year, then there's a decent chance I will. If people are frequently getting getting recent steppings, then there's a good chance I will.

That's why I'm asking for people who have just recently bought a 3800 from OcUK to let me know what stepping it is.

I purchased 3 about 5 weeks ago, all were week 23 06, and struggled to do more than 2.6ghz. So I got rid of them and grabbed a week 1, 06 from a private seller which does a nice 2.9ghz on air. Its total pot luck what week you get, some are good some are poor ocers. Look on xtremeforums, has a few x2 3800 threads with stepping infos.

Untill you buy a second hand cpu of someone you wont know stepping, its very rare for a eshop to tell you the stepping before purchase and pretty much impossible seeing as there are very few places with them in stock.
