Just wondering if anyone has a Shuttle XPC SN78SH7 Black Aluminium Barebones System.

Looking to put a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670 Ultimate "Passive" in it and was wondering if there would be space for the heat sink.

Was going to add a AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 545, 4gb of ram and a blu ray drive as well.

Any comments on the space available or anything else would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Passive cards need good airflow. Havent seen many Shuttles which can truly claim to have good flow.

Have you bought card or Shuttle yet?

Yes, I bought the shuttle, havent actually got it yet.

My plan was to run it with the onboard graphics initially. There is a chance that they might be sufficient for the computing I do.

If not I'll have to measure how much space im going to have.

I was also being tempted by the Galaxy single slot gtx 260 as an option.

Get a 9800 GT 1GB. It is single slot, tiny cooler, not restrictive and will run anything. Airflow is an issue in shuttles, and with the lid on you may be wise to keep the cpu cooler set to auto.

The onboard VGA is okay actually, I could run L4D2 at the recommended settings, which were lousy admittedly, but it played fine.

The 260GTX is probably not a good idea. For one, I don't think the psu would cope, but that is just a hunch. The 9800GT does not require external pci-e power as it draws it from the slot.
