Hello everyone!

I haven't got my Rift yet, I'm getting it in November but I'm just wondering about the USB 3.0 situation with the motherboard I have.

Has anyone tried a Rift with one of these motherboards..?

My PC passes the compatibility test thingy but I've seen loads of people having USB 3.0 problems despite passing it on various other forums.

Many thanks in advance for any help! :D

Not the same board, but I have an Asus Formula VIII. Shortly after rift release there were some new USB drivers released by Asus to combat some rift compatibility issues. By the time my rift had eventually arrived I had already updated so I never saw whether the old drivers did actually cause issues...

Anyway, point is I would guess that Asus have probably already released new drivers if indeed it was ever an issue with your mobo - I'd just check that you have the latest ones installed from your mobo's product page.

I have the Gene VII, dont know if its the same with the later boards but using usbtreeview I can see that I have 4 USB controllers by the look of things, 2x USB2, 1x ASMedia USB3 and 1x Intel USB3.

Its not clear from the backplate what is what, but I found when I had the vive in the ASMedia ports it did work but I couldnt enable the front facing camera for room view, it wasnt that important as actually if you clear your play area you dont use it much anyway. On the intel ports its fine.

I also have a AC wireless adapter that could cause issues if connected to the same controller, I presume down to bandwidth. usbtreeview let me see where things were as I moved them between ports
