Anyone with an OLED monitor with their PS5?

I’ve always being a desk setup kinda guy so no need to mention OLED TVs (I have one in the lounge!)

I’m just trying to work out if it’s worth upgrading my Gigabyte M28U 4k 144hz monitor to an OLED equivalent.

Can anyone share their experience or is it another expensive minor upgrade (like my PS5 Pro :D)

Thanks

I have a 42" LG C3 OLED 4K TV for my desk setup. Use it with my PC primarily, but occasionally with my consoles. For me, an OLED display trumps super fast refresh rates ... I don't need or want a monitor that can do 200+ Hz. A refresh rate of 120 Hz is plenty ( for playing single player games ) ; having a display that is crystal clear, vibrant and excels at HDR is a superior experience. I couldn't back to a non-OLED display. As for being an "expensive" upgrade - don't be duped into thinking you need a monitor for desktop usage. There are several OLED TV displays that offer similar features for less money ( LG, Samsung etc ).

It's more the size why I would rule out TVs. I play primarily online games, so FPS, Football, Racers, etc, so refresh is important to me, plus I have been gaming on 120hz, even my lad noticed the difference going from 120 to 60. I think 42" would be far too big, considering I sit around 70cm from my current 28" monitor.

The footprint of my 42" OLED is actually smaller than my previous 34" ultra widescreen monitor. Monitor stands are often bulky and add a lot to the weight and depth of the unit. Again, I wouldn't fancy going back to a smaller screen now ... certainly not below 38". If you really, and I mean really love FPS games, to the point you see yourself as being highly competitive at them, then maybe you should stick with a high refresh monitor ... but just be aware that you will be paying through the nose for a 4K OLED that also has very fast refresh rates ie. 200 Hz+. The latest OLED TV displays offer up to 144 Hz. My opinion is that the majority of gamers don't need refresh rates above that - even if they say and think they do. By the way, I sit 90 cm away from my 42" display and it's not overwhelming ... I can easily take in the whole screen without any eye fatigue. I'm not having to move my head/neck at all. The larger display gives a far more immersive experience for gaming compared to a typical sized monitor eg. 28-32".

Thanks. It’s around £650 for a 144hz+ OLED monitor which I didn’t have a problem paying for. It’s all small margins when it comes to competitive gaming, I’m not expecting to be better with an OLED but I’d like things to look better if you get me.

I couldn’t go below 120hz after being used to that now. To be fair the bezel on my current monitor is minuscule.

I've got Gigabyte Fo32uq hooked up to Ps5 pro. Hdr through the PS5 on full rgb is just insane. It just works.
