Anyone with experience of Gmail IMAP on a Blackberry?

I recently set up my domain's email on the Blackberry that's managed through google....I check the account on two computers using IMAP through Outlook 2007 so am doing IMAP on the phone too.

The problem I have is that most of the time I'm sat at the computer and reading my email that way. Unread messages on the blackberry pile up and don't ever get marked as read, even though I'm reading them through outlook and they're getting marked as such on the Gmail server (can tell by logging in through the web interface). Even having the blackberry do a force reconcile doesn't help.

Is there a way around this at all? At the moment I'm having to read every email I get twice! My friend who has added his Gmail account on a Nokia N73 tells me that things get reconciled no problem, every time his phone speaks to the server.

my gmail is same, if i read on pc it doesnt register on bberry.. you could probably get around it by using google mail app for bberry (im fairly sure one exists).. its also annoying that if u send an email on pc it pops up on berry

Can you not just use the Gmail app for your blackberry? (i.e. this one ---> http://www.google.com/mobile/).

I use this to check my gmail, which syncs read messages so you don't have the problem of having to read twice.
