Has anyone got experience of installing a low level line converter to convert speaker outputs to RCA connectors?
I have seen various guides about them being installed but all up to know mention speaker cables, remote power and ground. The converter I have has a 12v power cable that looks like a constant 12v source is required?

I'm thinking that if that's the case and the remote line out is active all the time, the cars battery will be flat if amps are having power sent to them all the time.

Any help would be great!

Fairly certain a switched live is more likely.
Tap off the switched live on your head unit or identify a suitable switched live fuse to piggy back off,

Thanks a lot for your response, I'm getting really confused with all this wiring now.

The power cable I need from the head unit, would it be called 'Battery positive voltage'?

Typically permanent live is yellow and switched live is red for an aftermarket head unit. Factory head units can vary. Battery live voltage sounds like a permanent feed.
If in doubt just piggy back off a fuse that is only 'live' with the ignition on.
