Gahhh I hate them.
Basically I moved into a house of randoms. The Greek fellow signed upto virgin media and has been taking £8 a month of us and more for people who used the phones. Anyway he decided to move back to Greece. So I said fine cancel the phone and I'll take over the account.
So he phoned up virgin media. No problem, gave them my name. And they sent the forms through.
Now I've been reading the terms and conditions.
1) I sign up to a new 12month contract - not happy but not the end of the world. We have a discounted package at the moment does that stay the same?
2) I take on any outstanding debts
which again wouldn't be a problem if you knew the person.
3) £20 fee - usual admin rubbish way to make money
Now this wouldn't be a problem if I knew exactly what the account was and how much was on it.
So I phoned virgin up and had a chat with them, a very brief one. As I didn't have the password and so they can't tell me anything. Can't tell me the package, can't tell me the credit, all he says is sign the form and once it's transferred over then we can chat.
I asked what would happen if I didn't sign he said the account would stay active although cut off. So we couldn't set up a new account.
So does anyone know of a way to get an account cancelled when the account holder is un-contactable.
on top of that get a letter addressed to him today from virgin saying the account is nearing it's limit, anyone know how much that is?
I was expecting the form to state what package you where on and how much it would cost. Very stupid not to include such vital information.
