anything better than 7970

New Green card on Thursday is faster and supports 4 monitors out the box. ;)

Just faster in Nvidia favoured Games/Benchies or just much faster on everything?

If GTX 680 is only faster in some things, 7970 is still a good option, with it's huge overclocking and 3GB of ram, better for multi screen future proofing etc...

Wander how much the GTX 680 4GB will be?

If that chart is anything to go by, im very excited. Ive never really liked Nvidia that much but that should blow The rest out the water!

I am pretty sure that chart was proved fake. It was made up from game benchmarks that were proved fake a good while ago. Some people are not even sure if the gtx680 is even dx11.1 compatable as on the box of a guy who has one it says dx11.

Fair enough i suppose, did seem slightly ridiculous!

I run 2x 7970's have had no problems with crossfire and 3 screens unlike my prev cards 2x 6990's and 3x 6950's.. the 7970's just run so much better, even if i max a game out and get low fps, low been 35fps plus you cant really tell unlike prev cards that would give me screen tearing and jumps in fps.. 1 card runs well but 2 is a must for eyefinity i think! i have over 30 games on steam with no probs :)

They're still debating that one:

The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb??

See what news the "proper" reviews bring.

 You're... you're allowed to tell us this?!

It's been known for ages now that it would do surround on one card. That's nothing new.

And, if we go by some biased benchmarks we could already say it's faster in certain things than the 7970.

Maybe it's faster in all of them?

From what I have seen though there isn't that much in it. Maybe 5-10%.

Still, if it's £439 then hey, hats off, it's cheaper than a 7970.

Hi gibbo is it much faster that its worth upgrading from my 7970 to a 680

Why not wait and see?

You certainly can't upgrade until the cards are available for sale, and by the time they're available for sale you will have access to all the data to make your own decision from reviews. Whether it's "worth it" is entirely dependent on your own personal criteria, and not something someone else can answer for you.

Initial benchmarks suggest the two cards will perform at a very similar level, with clock for clock performance virtually identical. Expect the 680 to be 5-10% faster overall at most, though use less power.

new benches with updated drivers have it further ahead than that.

Game benches I mean, got no time for heaven or 3d mark, means nothing to me.

oops, sorry, yeah looks bout 10%
