Considering it's price of £210, is there any other camera worth considering when looking for something that takes both good photos and videos? Primarily being used for animal photography and equine sports.

Depends on what you call better and at what prices. Almost any modern Nikon/Canon/Sony/Pentax is better for IQ, AF, ergonomics, viewfinder but will be more expensive and larger.

For good sports camera without winning the lottery look at the Canon 7D, Sony A77 and Nikon D7000.

If you want something small and cheap that Olympus will be hard to beat but you need to consider what you prioritize - cost, size/weight, AF performance, IQ? You might find that a compact like a Canon S95/1000 is better as it is truly pocket-able, or you might find AF performance to be important and go the SLR route.
