Anything better than 'chkdsk'...

Anything better than 'chkdsk' out there? Need something 3rd-party since found most programs still use CHKDSK especially when doing a check-up @ startup, e.g. thorough analysis, etc.

But will those check the same things as CHKDSK does e.g. indexes, etc? Lets just say I'm seeking a 2nd opinion or is Windows in-built tool the only & best for that kind of thing
