I've been quite interested in this ever since the Dell Vostro's appeal was lost:

Indeed it is, but I wasn't sure if the XPS lived up to hype. I've heard some heat issues arising from the XPS community, the again, it could just be a 'select few' ;)
 
Just checked on the Dell Shop and it seems their displays on the XPS M1530's is only 1280x800. I was really hoping for at least a 1440x1024 (or similar) display.
Also, the XPS comes with a fingerprint reader, which really doesn't appeal to me.
And just a last note, the 8600M GT included in the OP has the 512MB version.
Can anyone confirm that the XPS M1530's 8600M GT has GDDR3 Memory or GDDR2? (THAT was a mouthful xD)
 
If you want a different screen just phone them up as it's all very custom build geared when you phone. Not sure about the removal of the fingerprint reader.

My 8600 is stated as a 256mb and is DDR2 from what I've read on the notebookreview forums.
