Oh got mine working alright, you have to install the drivers yourself as the ones you get given never ever work.

Dodgy or not, its better than getting eaten alive by the outrageous cost MS are trying to flog theirs for.

Totally agree with u I have a 3rd party on on the missus machine works fine after messing with drivers and every now and again unplug and replug and its fine

Was loads cheaper that the official one I had on my machine .. Now I bought the xbone controller

I have a 360 controller and I love it. Easy to install, no fuss with "exotic" drivers, well integrated in games... I've just finished Valkyria Chronicles (originally on PS3, ported recently on PC) and the controller was just flawless.

No need to look anywhere else really, unless you wanna go wireless. I suppose an XBox One controller, dunno about their compatibility yet (definitely not as a wireless controller anyway).

I have an aftermarket wireless receiver for my 360 controller.

Works fine. You just have to manually install the driver.
