I've currently got the following set up:

CPU: 4.05 gigahertz AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4096MB
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
RAM: 32GB
HARD DRIVE: Crucial_CT480M500SSD1 (480.10 GB)
OS: Windows 8.1

Is there anything above that would be worth upgrading to give me a better gaming machine?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Yeah just trying to see if I can get a bit more 'oomph'. Monitor is currently an Asus PB278Q 27".

Sorta feel that some games run a bit sluggish as well i.e. shadow of mordor, assassins creed unity are two examples (but assassins creed might just be a bad port).

Also graphics card fan is quite noisy!

overclocking the CPU is probably a good idea. never done that before so will check out the guide.

would adding another 290 make a huge difference?

PSU is a TX750M and the cooler is just the standard one that came with the CPU. could there be issues with another 290 and overclocking the CPU? would the benefits be worth it?

You will certainly need an aftermarket cooler to keep temperatures and noise incheck.

Ideally a 850W PSU is recommended for Crossfire 290s.

Just OC your CPU and GPU , get a better cooler , make sure all drivers are updated and remember some games are bad ports or not very good optimization has gone into them
