Is there anything I can use to polish out small scratches on a Chrome Kitchen tap?

You could try Autosol and a microfiber cloth, it depends on how deep the scratch is really.

This guide may help, but as rick said may depend on how deep the scratches are. (polish and wax they suggest are not cheap though)

Does your wife/girfriend/partner also use scotch pads like my wife - everything shiny has scratches - no matter how nicely I tell her not to she carries on - when I mention it again she says - I forgot !!

I haven't been able to polish them out up to now so will be interesting to see if we can.

Get an abrasive pad and some WD-40, scrub in a circular motion over the entire piece of chrome. Wash away any residue.

Now you have a lovely brushed chrome effect

Tin Foil scrunched and dipped in water.

Bartender's Friend, then Brasso/Silvo if you need. Stuff is like magic.
Remember the chrome is a layer so thin that you actually see the nickel below - the nickel is where the shine is. The chrome plating is so expensive that manufacturers put on the thinnest layer possible to prevent the nickel tarnishing.
