Anything I could upgrade?

Got the Christmas pressies for everyone and I have £997 left around doing nothing, and I'm due to be paid again in under a week. So I thought I may aswell treat myself seeing as it is Christmas.

So I was wondering whether there was anything I could upgrade with my PC?

Tbh I don't feel it always performs the best with games, particularly Battlefield 2 and FEAR. Don't want to spend a huge amount but a fair bit, and I thought you guys could give me some advice.

Is the CPU overclocked? Depending on how much of the money you want to spend you could do a full overhaul or go part-way with either a new CPU, motherboard and Ram (£400ish) or alternatively go for a new graphics card like the 8800gts (£300ish).

2GB Corsair Value RAM

Should get at least £150

Then you could go for:
Intel E6300
Gigabyte DS3
2GB GeIL 6400C4 DDR2 Kit
Belinea 2225S1W 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Slap on a decent third party CPU cooler and clock like crazy

Also possibility to sell your X1800XT for ~£100 and replace with a X1900/X1950 or 8800GTS?

Try closer to £250, DDR is still fetching a fair bit 2nd hand.

@IwantanewPC - Do you overclock?

2 options really:
you could consider an overhaul and opt for a Core2 duo E6300/E6600, 2gb Geil ULL, an Asus P5B Deluxe + an 8800GTS.

or for ease, you could just go for an 8800GTS, and maybe clock you're CPU a bit to remove the bottleneck.

I don't overclock at all no.

Was thinking of selling my Motherboard, CPU, Graphics Card and RAM and then upgrading to the latest shizzle as has been suggested. I'll need a much better PSU if I plan to go that route though.

You guys think it's worth it then in the long run?
