Anything I need to know about using two PSUs?

Old system, currently running GTX970.

Thinking about switching in my water cooled R9 Fury X as it has better connectivity for triple monitors.

I think I need some extra juice as the current PSU is only 450w.

Have a spare 400w PSU lying round so I thought I'd get an adapter to use both PSUs in this Frankenstein setup.

Anything I need to know? Pitfalls or perils?

Thanks. Got the adapter already, just wondered if there were any problems I hadn't thought of for when I get round to doing it.
