Recently purchased an Opteron 165 to replace my 4000+.

Well its arrived today and obviously the new CPU is dual core. Just wondered if there is anything I should do specifically when I drop the CPU in?

Thanks in advance...

1.) Keep your eyes open
2.) Wear clothes
3.) Remove all animals from the room
4.) Do not drool
5.) Do not eat pizza - cheese on CPU = bad

my friend said that his mates sister's best friend's neighbours brother saw a post that cheese is actually better than AS5!

dropping cheese on CPU does nothing bad, have also dropped chocolate, splashed water and even drooled on PC parts before to no ill-effect :p

i have found some part's to be quite robust although i did cringe when after coming home from OCUK with my shiny new C2D E6700 OEM in it's little square box...

Me to wife "i know you don't understand about computers honey but this is one of the fastest processors in the world, i know it's only tiny but it cost just over £400"

wife takes little box off me carefully doesn't open it and throws it accross the room,

Wife "i thought you were joking and it was empty"

they just don't respect us men, to them we are all playing with really silly little expensive toys :(

bless her she doesn't understand how something so small can cost so much... she didn't complain about here ear rings i got her that cost 4 tomes more than my processor, sit in a drawer most of the year and don't actualy do anything! uugh WOMEN

If u buy something expensive for the computer then i ususally treat her to something very special for the same value that she will use a lot:

washing machine
dryer
ironing board
vacuum
mop

Shes 1 lucky girl ;) :D
