i have a 3G card and a PCMCIA to pci convertor but currently the setup doesnt work because apprently my Dell machine isnt compatible with that 3G card. ANYWAY thats not my query. Here it is:-

Is there a device available that allows someone to 'dial in' to access a computer lets say that does NOT require telephone connection or rj45 connectors? pretty much like what the 3G card offers?

like a modem without a telephone connection.

I want to dial into a PC remotly but where the PC is located there is no way of connecting it to a phone socket or network point. So what's my option?
 
I use an old fashioned modem to call a a GSM modem in a remote PC.

Speed is a whole 9600 kbs but it works and all mobile networks seem to support it. Faster mobile technology is available but they are network specifc. Most high speed technology inc 3G was desinged for high speed access to the internet or a server, connecting 2 PC's simply would be diffcult.

Check your 3G card may also be a GSM modem!
