Anything Network related either crashes or freezes

hi, anyone have any ideasabout the followingg please?

Anything network related either crashes or freezes. FF or IE fail to connect to the net, theyjust sit there. Ie tries but FF just freezes as soon as it launches.

Windows network map crashes. I can rarely get into the Network/Sharing center.

Ive run AV and SpyBot etc which has not found any viruses.

I'm thinking maybe A vast is causing it but I can't uuninstall the the damn thing!

Any ideas? I've also reinstalled network drivers.

It was Avast causing it all. Wow, I'm never using that again.

Uninstalled via safe mode and all is now ok.

That's irritating.

Was going to suggest drivers and possibly AV as a long shot.

Glad it's fixed
