Anything on the horizon?

Asus are due to release a 34" curved gsync monitor, I'm waiting for that to arrive before I pull the trigger on a new monitor.

Do we know any launch date or expected date?

Probably not for ages. Like the original RoG Swift it was shown in proof of concept type form. Supposedly they're trying to get the panel working OC'd to 100hz (this on the same exact 34" 3440x1440 60hz IPS panel that has been very unreliable).

Expect proper launch at IFA (in September), availability probably Q4.

Hopefully IFA sees DP1.3 monitors launch ... it'd be a shame if they're delayed to Q1 '16 and CES ... they were expected at Computex and nothing showed.

The Asus 34 inch curved with gsync is the monitor now on my radar. Last I knew they were shooting for 75hz, and even that was flaky.

Where have you heard about it possibly being 100hz??? IF they could pull that off, this is the screen I will buy. If it ever gets released, it might never make it past concept stage.

Unless you're not dead set on Ultra Wide, you may want to consider the ASUS PG279Q IPS 144Hz screen, due sooner it would appear. Assuming they can iron out some of the dreadful QC issues that the equivalent Acer XB270HU has had, that could be a great monitor. The jump from 60Hz to 100+ is very noticeable and a worthy upgrade for a 980Ti I would say. The Samsung is limited to 60Hz.

Given those two monitors are said to be 75Hz (perhaps 100Hz if some rumours are to be believed), and priced at around £1000 for the G-Sync versions... and still using the same panels that have been used in the existing curved ultra-wides (just overclocked it seems)... they will be a rip-off and certainly not worth such a hefty price tag.

So folks.

I have a 980ti on the way to me and I plan to pair it with another 980TI soon enough.

Iv always had the thought I get the Samsung S34E790C https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-211-SA

But I want to know is there anything coming out in the next month or 2 to rival the Samsung or even beat it hands down?

Failing that Ill buy the Samsung

Definitely nothing in the next month or two, I've looked everywhere and contacted just about every firm I can think of. The best screens out are the Dell IPS and Samsung VA 3440x1440.
