Hi folks,

Wanting to put an image viewer on my new PC that similar in functionality to the older version of ACDSee (before it became uberbloatware). I got a free copy of v2.4 on a Computer Shopper cover CD many years back and its great. Super quick at loading, great slide show, great browser, batch rename, batch rotate etc etc.

The only problem is since its many years old now it doesnt support things like 16bit PSD files, any camera RAW files (Fuji RAF is what I use) and 16bit TIFFs.

I tried the "new" all singing all dancing version and it was HORRIBLE, it was slow, paused for no apparent reasons when flicking through images and was generally a big mess. I emailed ACD to ask if they had a newer version of the classic program I was running but they didnt.

So my learned friends, do you know of something that would fit the bill? I dont mind if its freeware, GNU, commericial or anything at all as long as its quick and works.

Thanks peeps!

R.

Faststone Image Viewer is free and will do most of the stuff, and it's certainly lightning fast. It'll do batch renaming and resizing too, and there's also a free separate renamer which has a bit more power.

There's a portable option too.

Don't know if it will read recent Fuji RAWs, but it does have a RAW file associate option. :)

Thanks guys, already got Irfan, great program but I dont think it does raws. I'll check out the Fastone one too.
