Hi all,

Newsleecher isnt able to keep up with our download speed. Is there anything better available?

And no its not photoshopped.

Are you sure those speeds aint down to your ISP? As Newsleecher downloads at full speed from my end and Ive been using it for years.

Basically the speed is so quick, newsleecher cant deal with the files quick enough. It pops up a message basically saying its pausing downloads while it sorts itself out. Hence why the average speed is a lot lower than the current/max speed.

Try loading something like Word or Firefox while downloading and see if it appears within half an hour ;)
Vista has a good HD meter in the resource monitor; on XP, aside from some third party util I don't know apart from just looking at the hard drive light on the front of your computer!
If you have the likes of WD Raptors it's a different matter, I can hear my two from downstairs :p

I used to have the same problem untill I upgraded to version 3.9 beta 11 then it stopped. Not too sure if it has solved the problem as I also did a defrag but it hasnt happened in the past few weeks.

P.S. Sweeney Todd is a good film;)

I'd get faster hard drives/CPU as I've noticed these resources get used up a lot when downloading from usenet.
