basically, today my pc died totally when playing CS:S (dfi sli-dr) the bios clear thing worked and all is now back to normal but my raided drives dont work on it anymore. they show up in the bios but 1 or the other. not both.

i dont have another mobo with SIL sata ports so was wondering if any of those external caddies that hold 2 sata drives would do for testing? i figure SIL chipsets would be cheap to make them usable in external cases?

i am hoping that it will let me recover my info. nothing irreplacable in there but would take me weeks to replace and this would just be sooo much easier

aren't caddies the ones which u place in one of your bays and then slot hard drives into and then which can be locked? :)

You might want to try an ICYBOX which is external.

i meant external caddies yeah. thing is i need one that can hold 2 sata drives and also support raid-0 with a silicon image chipset to try and read whats on the drives

just an update in case it helps anyone else. plugged those same 2 drives just 5 mins ago into my new bad axe mobo (been untouched since the pc crash) and it all happened automatically!. my raid array was there waiting for me in windows :D

pretty chuffed! :o
