As usual out to get bang for my buck so to speak.

Are there any problems to be aware of buying an ex-demo projector/used projector in general?

Provided of course bulb is relatively few hours on and warranty transferable/valid.

I do not know about reliability etc however I did notice a PT AT6000 "used" on the rainforest for £550 and that is an absolute bargain for somebody.

There's plenty of everything sold used/ex-dem/refurb etc. It's all down to the condition. Your best option is to get a demo before parting with your cash. If that's not practical then set aside a lump of cash (£100-£200) to cover return couriers, insurance, hassle in case what you buy doesn't match the description. If that extra cash tips the balance between used and new then you have a quick answer.

There was. They also had an Epson......I put the Pan in my basket and before I could hit go it vanished

I have demo'd the projector in question and it was great, it's from a reputible person.

Only potential issue is 20 months or so warranty on the used vs 36 months on new. On something costing more than £1400 makes me twitchy!

Then again the machine is proven with no problems at 16 months old, kind of like a car, you know it should be ok if any major issues were going to surface they'd have hopefully done so by now...
