The ping rates are fine, that's not the problem. ATM, I'm playing an RPG game (not WoW, hate it lol) and I lag the worst out of everyone. I've been through everything with technical support: Setting up static IP addresses, configuring the DNS, taking the face place off the master socket and trying the test socket, reinstalling, switching off the other PC, different firewalls and spyware scanners, reinstalling mutiple times, having interleaving (sp?) switched off, line caped to 8mb (from 17.5mb), noise margin raised (I now connect at 15mb) yet they refuse to fix the frigging exchanges.
If the exchanges were stable, and my ping was arround 200, I'd still be happy. The problem is with RPG games (especially this one) you can die in half a second if you don't react. When lag happens, I'm stood there like a plick for 30+ seconds till everything starts moving, at which point I'm dead, then I lag out.
Best part of it all is I've had the problems since the beginning, which was 2 months ago, and to disconnect me from their service, they want the remaining 10 months left on the contract @ £24.99 a month. They know where they can shove that. It also slows down randomly, for hours at a time, and this is when I'm typically lagging very bad. I have usenet subscription, and generally (sp?) i can get the line's max from 4 connections. When its having a bad evening, I'm lucky to get 700kb/sec from 20 connections. It normally floats between 150kb/sec and 800kb/sec, normally the lower half.
