Anyway of removing the recycle bin icon off my desktop?

Other than clicking hide desktop items,Can this be done? Cheers

Yeah, use the TweakUI powertoy from here.

Open Regedit by going to START - RUN and type Regedit and hit enter. Then you should navigate to following entry in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} and delete it. This action should remove recycle bin from your desktop.

guess i'll just have to hide desktop icons, because its my work computer and i cannot edit the registry or install tweakui without administrative priviledges :mad:

Is there any way around this at all?

Ask your system administrator?

Presumably you shouldn't be buggering about with a work PC anyway.
