Right Ive just got 8gb of mem, and was wondering is there anyway to limit the superfetch to 6gb, so the hdd dont take so long to become idle when booting vista.. Really I need a solid state hdd but there so exspensive.

just use hibernate or sleep, windows doesn't need rebooting all the time like it used to :)

Hibernating won't make any difference, the pc still has to copy the 8GB of data from the hdd back to the ram, which will just mean windows will take even longer to boot up.

Heh, I never knew a function called sleep existed! Cheers Bledd!

It's been around since at least windows 98. :p The only problem is if power to the pc is interrupted then you lose everything in the ram, plus it uses electricity.
