Anyway to overlay my google photos on google maps

Doesn't the photos or gallery app have a map feature like on iOS?

On android in the Google photos app if you go collections > places > [press the map] it will load a heat map of all your photos, and if you zoom in it will show you photos from particular places.
 
maybe with My (google) maps , had looked at this as a solution to google maps automotive stupidly re-routing road routes I wanted to give to friends -
I think you can add annotations and then give route to someone to overlay in google maps
