anyway to stop a program making unortharised changes in Vista.

The program in question is Microsoft Office Outlook. All Vista tells me is the changes are being made. I believe this is why I am being "bombed" with spam.

Download Superantispyware and Malwarebytes. Install, update and deploy. One or the other will sort out most issues.
