Anyway to throttle CPU in debian?

Hi guys, I'm running a custom Debian build called BAMT, its sole purpose is to boot and mine Scrypt Coins. It isn't very CPU intensive at all.

While it's working great, I have some small snags. One is that it seems to draw more power than if I boot Windows 7 and mine from there. I have already modded the BIOS on the cards so that they match what voltage they'd use in Windows.

I suspect that it is the CPU not being throttled like I can throttle it in Windows. Is there anyway to find out if this is the case and if so get it to throttle? Or would I need to go into the BIOS and downclock it myself?

Cheers!
