Hi all. I've got the above monitor but I can't get the speakers on it to work.

I've even tried plugging in a mp3 to the monitor but still no sound.
Is there a secret menu I'm unaware of or do you think the monitor s faulty?

Thanks.

In that case have you set windows playback audio to that device.
In sound settings bottom right on windows desktop.

You need to change the sound output to your monitor. In the sound section of control panel you should see several choices, including your monitor. The present setting will show with a tick (could be realtek, for example). You then need to set your monitor as the default. This should work.

Thanks guys but I've tried that already.

I don't understand this, if I plug a mp3 player into the audio jack on the monitor should it not play?

you have the sound on the monitor turned up right?
go to playback devices and see if the monitor is listed, then see that it ticked as default device

also what input type cable are you using? hdmi dp? or vga / dvi

I've got this monitor, it definitely has speakers. However, they are utter garbage and I wouldn't recommend you use them in any capacity. If you use the display port, turn the sound up from the OSD and set it correctly in windows it should work and you'll realise they're a waste of time and turn the sound off.

thanks for the help again.

I'm connected to the monitor with a HDMI cable.
The sound is up at 100 on the monitor.
The green socket from my MOBO is connected to the monitor, I've tried both green and black sockets.
Click playback devices-(picture of a monitor)-controller information-AMD high def audio device-device enabled. The little green bars are going up when I play a song but no sound.

I'm struggling with this one.
