Hi guys,

I'm in need of a new monitor and was wondering if anyone can give me feedback on this monitor?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...idescreen-led-monitor-gunmetal-mo-022-ao.html

Does anyone have it and recommend it? What are the colours like?

One last thing, the only main reason im sceptical about it is that annoying, stupid green band going along the bottom. Its a deal breaker for me at the moment, is it really that bad in person?

Its very picky but it won't look right as all my colours are black and red, with a little green from my keyboard lol

Hope anyone can help me :)

Thanks lads :D

Hi

Just upgraded mine to an X34 after having it for 6 or so months. To sum it all up in one, its a great monitor for what it is. Its a TN panel, the viewing angles are as to be expected not good, if you starting slumping into your chair after an hour or so like i do you will notice the difference. Really this is not to put you off, infact you should ignore that, you are asking about buying a TN panel monitor, this kind of thing is to be expected, but colours wise, it certainly 'better' than any other TN panel i've owned, infact after being away from IPS for so long i was expecting the X34 (ive only had it a couple days bearing in mind though) to knock me back off my feet in terms of colour, but alas it hasn't, it subtly better, so got to say something for the AOC hasn't it.

Response times and gaming performance simply put is top draw, so fluid, so fast, so responsive. I'm noticebaly ****ter in CS this week after getting the X34, maybe a coincidence but for outright FPS the AOC, IMO, is better but X34 all round suits my needs better so thats why i changed

Tbh, i wasn't convinced upon adding it to my basket of having the green strip on there, but honestly after a week or so it didnt bother me, and never noticed it tbh, its actually more subtle in real life, the green is not garish or bright. You'll soon forget its there.

Do i recommend it? Yes. You will not find better elsewhere for the money, to get close/succeed it next option would be second hand ROG Swift in the MM for circa 350. Is the ROG worth the extra though, in performance probably not, in colours, would you really tell the difference, probably not. In aesthetics, yes :)

I was not dissapointed with this monitor, infact i was very pleased with it also considering what you get for 280 notes! Its very good value for money, and represents a great purchase. The things you are concerned with you shouldnt be IMO, if you pull the trigger im very confident you won't be dissapointed

Xplo your review has sold it to me!

The TN panel doesn't phase me to be honest, I'm always in front of my screen anyway. If I do slump its most likely when I'm just browsing, as when I'm gaming I'm always up straight and stuck into it haha

Your feedback was amazingly helpful as this decision has been knocking me on and off for ages, all because of that green strip and wasn't really familiar with AOC (I was scared if the colours and overall monitor would look cheap). After seeing videos however, its appearance is appealing.

Im glad that strip is more subtle, but like you said, I shouldnt let it affect my decision. It'll probably break up the colours a bit haha

Thanks again! :)

Pulled the trigger and brought it and i received yesterday...well, I'm so glad i did it! Fell in love with it straight away! The green band has actually grown on me too haha.

Well worth the purchase!!

Well done mate enjoy it, it is a good monitor. I miss mine. Don't be scared by the AOC name they are churning out some very good monitors at even better very good price points

Clearly! This monitor is a huge upgrade from my 4 year old BenQ G2222HDL. I hope this lasts as long..even better that I brought it for £200 brand new :D

Btw, in the OSD which settings did you calibrate it too? I found a good one online and it really has brought the colours out. Just wondering if maybe you had a decent one too? :)

Hi

I forget now what the settings were but i used the settings (colour wise) from tftcentral review if you google them, and seemed pretty much bang on. Every panel is different though so that will get you in the ballpark then just adjust up or down by 1 click depending on taste. Brightness to taste too as i found it a little dull so stuck it up a couple notches
